“As per the decision, Turkey will impose an additional 18 percent customs duty on imports of denim fabrics from Pakistan, taking the total duty to 24.5 percent”, he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Dr Baig urged Clothing textile exporters to ship as much fabric possible by July 24.
Continuing the discussion he said, “The decision to impose additional duties is mainly to safeguard the interests of Turkish domestic textile industry. Despite intense lobbying, we have not been able to revoke the order on Pakistani textile exports”.
