Paul Costelloe appeals to workwear sector – ‘give me a call’

One of Britain’s most well-established fashion designers said he can’t wait to swap the runways of London Fashion Week for the runways of Heathrow and Gatwick to design clothes for the workwear sector, including airlines and banks.

Paul Costelloe has told the organisers of the upcoming Workwear and Corporate Clothing Show, that he wants to design corporatewear and bring a sense of ‘je ne sais quoi’ to the sector which he feels lacks a spark of creativity in places.

Workers who are used to wearing outfits designed for function and practicality could soon be able to boast that it is also a Paul Costelloe.

And he made a direct appeal to the corporatewear industry to ‘Pick up the phone and call me’. He said: “It’s important for the company that we are out there and seen as a fashion company but we can do corporatewear probably better than anybody in the world.

“Why? Because we’re a fashion house and having that fashion influence in our manufacturing makes us unique in the corporatewear business. It means that we can offer the ‘je ne sais quoi’ that corporatewear lacks sometimes.”
